The Harvard Business School Association of Orange County Hosts an Evening at The Shea Center, April 08, 2010

The HARVARD Business School Association of Orange County, The Orange County STANFORD Association, The UCLA Anderson Alumni Network Orange County Chapter, The USC Marshall Alumni Association Orange County Chapter, and The WHARTON Club of Southern California host an evening at The Shea Center featuring Peter Ueberroth , Managing Director of Contrarian Group and owner and co-chairman of the Pebble Beach Company, as the distinguished speaker. This will be a very special opportunity to experience first hand the impact of philanthropy by Orange County business leaders that truly make a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities served by the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center. See a dramatic and inspiring demonstration of the unique role horses can play in helping people with disabilities significantly improve the quality of their lives. Enjoy fine hors-d'oeuvres and beverages, a networking reception, a therapeutic riding demonstration, Shea Center tours, and a presentation from keynote speaker Peter Ueberroth.
Peter V. Ueberroth is managing director of Contrarian Group, an investment and management company. He is also owner and co-chairman of the Pebble Beach Company.
Peter founded First Travel Corporation in 1962. When he sold the company in 1980, it was the second-largest travel business in North America. From 1980 to 1984, Peter was president of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, the organization responsible for staging the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. He was commissioner of Major League Baseball between 1984 and 1989.
He serves on the board of directors of The Coca-Cola Company, Aircastle LTD (AYR), and is President, in an honorary capacity, of the United States Olympic Committee.
Peter graduated from San Jose State University, earning a degree in business. While in college, he competed in the 1956 U.S. Olympic water polo trials. He has twelve honorary degrees and was Time Magazine’s Man of the Year in 1984. His 1985 book Made in America was a bestseller.

Parking: Parking will be located at the Saddleback Valley Christian School parking lot located directly across the street from The Shea Center. After turning onto Oso Road the school parking lot is located immediately to the right. The Shea Center is a quick walk across the street from the school. Parking signs and parking attendants will be present to help guide you.
Attire: The Shea Center is an outdoor equestrian facility. Casual attire such as boots and jeans are highly encouraged. Please be sure to bring a jacket to stay comfortable once the sun sets.
