2025 Swallows Day Parade

Mar 26, 2025 | More Info

For over 40 years, The Shea Center has been an enthusiastic participant in the San Juan Capistrano Swallows Day Parade, which is now in its 65th year.

Every March, Shea Center clients, volunteers, and staff come together to celebrate the vibrant community spirit of the San Juan Capistrano Swallows Day Parade.  It’s a unique opportunity for The Shea Center to spread awareness about our mission.

The parade is an outgrowth of a school carnival in the 1930s, held in March to celebrate the swallows’ return to Mission San Juan Capistrano. The carnival evolved into a local equestrian parade and today is one of the nation’s largest non-motorized parades. Over the years, various activities have been added (such as this year’s Budweiser Clydesdales) or dropped, and on parade day, there is a lively Mercado.

The parade’s charm draws global interest, making it a remarkable celebration that weaves together history, community spirit, and worldwide appeal.
