Volunteer Services manager Michele Gingras had this to say about volunteer of the month, Kate Lund, “Kate has been a sidewalker for the same client for the past 1.5 years. Kate brings calmness to the lesson and the consistency and stability essential for the client’s growth.”

Why we love her: Kate is consistent and friendly and has developed a close relationship while sidewalking with her client.
Road to The Shea Center: “I originally learned about The Shea Center when my kids went to school at Saddleback Valley Christian (now Fairmont) across the street from Shea. A few years later, my sister, Michele Gingras, and my niece, Kristiana Gingras, began working at Shea.”
Years of Service: Kate has been a volunteer for two years.
Lessons learned: “I’ve learned to be less afraid of horses! I’ve also learned that Shea is a wonderful place that brings joy to so many people.”

When not volunteering at Shea, she can be found doing this: “I work at the Admissions Department at Capistrano Valley Christian School.”
She finds her bliss…: “The thing I love most is taking care of and spending time with my family.”
