Meet Our Advanced Volunteers

Feb 5, 2020 | Volunteers

The Shea Center established the Advanced Volunteer Program to ensure that new volunteers have a streamlined first day. With this team of 23 volunteers, we are able to offer extra training to those who would like more one-on-one instruction before beginning to work alone.

Our advanced volunteers demonstrate extensive knowledge of our horses, tack, and everything horse-related at the barn. They are a dedicated team of people, with flexible schedules, who have put in many volunteer hours over the years and enjoy teaching others. They are a terrific asset to the volunteer department.

At the barn, there is a whiteboard showcasing photos of the advanced volunteers. Therefore, everyone knows who is working that day, can pair a face with a name, and knows who to ask for answers to questions.

If you are a current Shea Center volunteer and want to request time to learn from one of our advanced volunteers, please reach out to Volunteer Services Manager Christina Lee at: clee@sheacenter.org to find a time that works best for you!

Interested in becoming a Shea Center volunteer? Check out the Volunteer tab of The Shea Center website. There is a volunteer application online.
