At six months of age, Max D. was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (NF1). NF1 is a genetic disorder that stimulates the growth of tumors along nerves in the skin, brain, and other areas of the body.
Alice, Max’s mother, has seen marked improvement in her son’s balance and coordination since he began riding at The Shea Center.
With increased self-confidence, Max is now inspired to participate with other children on the playground rather than sitting on the sidelines as before.
