Maggie G.’s favorite activity is hide-and-seek says her physical therapist, Randi Shannahan.
At The Shea Center, we try to incorporate the game whenever possible during Maggie’s physical therapy sessions on and off the horse. This can be a great method to incorporate our gross motor goals of improving postural stability, balance, strength and motor coordination as well as the secondary benefits of addressing visual scanning skills, alertness, attention, creativity, and communication.

Maggie’s volunteer, Zach S., is always excited to participate, making our game interactive and social, which helps to solidify turn-taking and other peer play concepts.
By the way, Zach is the volunteer who made us our new helmet cabinets for his Eagle Scout project. Thank you, Zach. They’re terrific!
