Client Spotlight: Nathan M.

Aug 8, 2021 | Clients, Speech Therapy

Nathan M. (age 5) has been a Shea Center rider for two years.  Diagnosed with autism, and developmental and speech delays, Nathan attends transitional kindergarten.  At school, Nathan has become more social and is beginning to interact with other children and imitate their actions.

Nathan doesn’t speak many words, but he does use a communication device and is beginning to try to approximate the sounds others make.  Nathan’s mom, Candida, says she has observed a lot of improvement since Nathan began at The Shea Center.  She particularly mentions improved sensory issues and eye contact.  Candida has also noticed increased social interaction, self-confidence, independence, and a willingness to help others.

Nathan is a busy boy with five days of school, 18 hours of ABA therapy, and occupational and speech therapies too.
