After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, our friends from the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, returned to The Shea Center in February.  VA Long Beach veterans began monthly visits to The Shea Center in March of 2013.

Our visiting veterans groom and feed the horses, take Mac N’ Cheese for a walk, and sometimes simply hang out with a favorite horse in companionable silence. Dante provided one of the veterans with his first horseback ride in decades.

We are grateful for their service, and it is a honor to have them on site!
