Please join us in congratulating Johnny as our latest Volunteer of the Month!
Why we love him: As a sidewalker, Johnny’s enthusiasm and commitment to our clients plays an important role in helping them reach their goals.
Path to The Shea Center: “I was new to the area and was looking for ways to help and get to know people in my community. When I read about Shea and its mission statement, I was very touched about the work it does for others.”
Years of service: Johnny began volunteering in August 2021.

Lessons learned: “I’ve learned a lot about horses and how to work with and care for them. I’ve also been happy to further explore how to connect with people, which has made my experience with The Shea Center very memorable.”
Favorite memories: “When I played freeze tag with one of my first clients after their lesson. It was a fun, shared experience.”
When not at The Shea Center, he’s doing this: “Practicing my cinematography skills or working on homework for school.”
He finds his bliss doing this: “I find my bliss in photography, as it is enjoyable for me and a fun way to express myself.”
Future plans for this game-changer: “To pursue a cinematography career and continue building my portfolio for college and beyond!”
