Path to The Shea Center: Lynn read an article on The Shea Center and began volunteering in 2014. “I read about the wonderful work that is done here, and I decided I’d like to be a part of that.”

Years of service: 8 years

Lessons learned: “I’ve learned so much about the different therapies we use and about horse behavior. I’ve learned that with perseverance, patience, kindness and a smile, I can make a difference in someone’s life.”

Favorite Shea Center memories: “A favorite memory is from last year’s BBQ. I was sidewalking with Terri (Hutchison, Speech Language Pathologist) in a demonstration and our rider stood up on her horse with her hands in the air! She had worked so hard to do it, and we were so thrilled!”

Why we love her: Lynn is a caring, compassionate sidewalker and brings a big bag of her home-baked, delicious cookies each week!

When not at The Shea Center, she likes to: “Take care of my little zoo at home or make cookies. Lots of cookies.”

She finds her bliss doing this: “My passion is spending time with friends and family, especially my sweet little granddaughters.”
