What is the Annual Shea Center BBQ & Family Faire?
- A family friendly fundraising event to support our mission
- This is our largest fundraising event held each year. Voted “Best Annual Event” by The Capistrano Dispatch People’s Choice Horseshoe Awards, this event covers approximately 15% of our annual operating budget.
- The funds from this event help cover financial aid for our clients, and overall general funds needed to continue to operate and serve our clients.
What’s there to do at the BBQ?
- Watch demonstrations highlighting our equine-assisted services
- Meet our therapy horses during barn tours
- Play games and win prizes at our carnival
- Interact with adorable animals at the petting zoo
- Face painting and temporary tattoos
- Listen to live music from our BBQ House Band – Swingshift
- Wet your whistle at multiple bars including open bars for premium ticket holders, sponsors (and their guests)
- Dine on fantastic food (catered)
- Celebrate with our clients during the Client Parade of Stars (a highlight of the evening)

- Silent auction open 9/10/2022 at noon – 9/19/2022 at noon. (Items available for pick up after 9/21/2022 during regular office hours 9am –5pm)

When is the BBQ?
Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 4 pm to 10 pm
Dress code: Casual, western wear. Layers are advisable as the weather gets cooler in the evening. *Closed-toed shoes required for barn tours.
How to Purchase General Admission Tickets:
- Online: SheaCenter.org/BBQ (must be purchased in advance, online; no tickets available on the day of event or at the venue.)
- Ticket Prices (includes entrance to the BBQ and buffet dinner):
- Individual ticket: $65
- Child*, senior, person with a disability, military, first responders: $40
- Family pack: $195 (2 adults and 2 children)
*Child is 17 years and younger
