Meet Boots, our charming chestnut Quarter Horse, standing at a perfect 14.1 hands high. He loves going on a trail ride with his herd mates and thrives in adaptive riding lessons, where he serves as a wonderful partner for clients who are building their independent riding skills.
Why we love him: His compact and strong build makes him perfect for carrying a wide range of clients, while his short height allows therapists and instructors to maintain eye contact with the rider, which can be necessary for attention and participation.
What makes him a great therapy horse: Boots has seamlessly integrated into our programs, showcasing his versatility, trainability, and patience! His intelligence and kind demeanor make him a wonderful member of our herd.


Years of Service: He has been at The Shea Center since July 2023.
Previous Career(s): Before coming to The Shea Center, Boots lived and trained with a lovely family that owns a facility in Dalton, Ohio.
Fun Fact: Boots LOVES water! Whether it’s at the creek, from a hose, or a water bucket, he will splash with his nose and play with water to his heart’s content.
