Denise W. – Volunteer of the Year
If we could describe the ideal volunteer, it would be someone who is happy to be at Shea, shows up on schedule, is flexible, and comes with a teachable spirit.

Denise Wishney embodies every single one of those traits. From the moment she steps onsite, she is always willing to work wherever she is needed most. Denise is a stellar sidewalker, who takes on some of our most involved clients with a calm and collected demeanor. She has also grown tremendously as a leader this year, having sought out multiple advanced effective leader courses. Thank you for all your help, Denise!

Kris Y. – Rookie Volunteer of the Year
In just over a year, Kris Yellin has accumulated nearly 200 volunteer hours! She has also advanced her horsemanship skills to become a level 1 leader in lessons, and she is a great sidewalker too.

There is no question about Kris’s dedication to The Shea Center. Shortly after becoming a volunteer, she experienced a severe shoulder injury, which prohibited her from working in lessons. Kris did not let that slow her volunteering commitment; she still arrived every week ready to help with any office work that needed to be done. We are so thankful for you, Kris.

Eva T. – Youth Volunteer of the Year
Eva is an exceptional young lady, and her leadership growth during the past year has been tremendous.

Eva spent almost all of last summer helping with Shea summer camps. Not only did she lead and sidewalk, but she spent countless hours at the barn helping the LTA’s make sure everything ran smoothly. Eva is flexible and versatile and helps wherever she is needed. Her sweet smile and genuine spirit allow her to forge meaningful connections with her clients and keep them focused during their lessons. We are so pleased to have Eva working with us.
