Rookie of the Year
Patti Reed – Patti has been a wonderful addition to our volunteer team. Trained as both a leader and sidewalker she is hardworking, flexible, connects with clients and is a shining example of a Shea Center volunteer. Patti also assists in the barn and is always eager to help and learn new things.

Youth Volunteer of the Year
Ben C. – Ben is the kind of volunteer that makes you smile. He is reliable, flexible and works well with any client to whom he is assigned. Ben is encouraging and helpful to new sidewalkers and has become quite knowledgeable in that role.

Volunteer of the Year
Christie Lynch – The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a volunteer who is an all-around all-star. Christie epitomizes compassion and care for both our clients and our horses. She is a passionate student, always seeking to improve her riding and horse handling skills, her communication with clients, and learning about the many disabilities we treat at The Shea Center. As both a leader and sidewalker, she is an asset and a pleasure to work with.
