We may be biased but….horse camp is the best kind of camp!
Our campers worked on different riding skills each day, and used all the skills they acquired on a trail course on the last day of camp. On the final day of camp they worked on their balance and motor planning skills by vaulting on Huckleberry!

Campers also participated in horsemanship skills as well, such as grooming, leading and bathing horses.
Of course, camp wouldn’t be camp without crafts: Our campers unleashed their inner artists by customizing their camp tees, decorated mini horse shoes and painted our very patient horses.

Over 160 campers participated in our six integrated week-long camps for kids with and without disabilities, and one-day Shea Camp experiences. We had a blast hosting many of our adaptive riding and therapy clients, our ‘camp regulars’ who we see each summer and many new faces. We’re looking forward to Shea Camp 2024!
Registration for The Shea Center Horse Summer Camp starts in March 2024 on SheaCenter.org/camp.
