Annual Gala Event Honoree - Tony Gregory

Event Honoree: Tony Gregory

Tony Gregory is a true leader among leaders. His service as a board member for The Shea Center has been marked by humility, honesty, and integrity. One of the remarkable aspects of his dedication to The Shea Center is his commitment to always considering the impact of any action through our mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs.

Many years ago, then-board chair John Frank said, “You know, there’s a great guy I know in the Portolas (El Viaje de la Portola) who should be part of Shea. He’s the real deal – horseman, leader, good human.” We are fortunate that John introduced Tony to Shea, and that Tony accepted the invitation.

Tony has generously shared his time and talents to help The Shea Center grow in various capacities. He has contributed as a leader, marketing expert, and manager of company growth. Alongside his wife, Julie, he has supported programs financially, and he has utilized his connections within the community to provide Shea with much-needed resources.

Throughout his time at The Shea Center, Tony has served in many roles including board member, board officer, and endowment chair. In each of these roles and in all interactions, his kindness shines through. Reflecting on his experience at The Shea Center, Tony says, “I love walking through The Shea Center gates. This place allows me to decompress and put the demands of the day behind me. I also see our clients on horseback and interacting with the horses and staff. It’s their perfect moment and it is a completely inspirational experience.”

Tony epitomizes the very best of those who have received the Michael Lewis Friends of the Disabled Award, and we are honored to celebrate him tonight.

The Debut of a New Client Video

Every year, at our annual gala, we have the privilege of highlighting a client and their journey at The Shea Center. This year, we are excited to share Brianna’s story. Her story will premiere at the 2024 Gala and be shared digitally after the event. Stay tuned!

  • The Fosheim Fund a Need (est. 2007) aids in providing funds for client financial aid, horse care, and priority programs such as our military programs.
  • The fund is named for Penny and Jon Fosheim and their 35+ year commitment to our mission.
  • As the need increases for our programs, so does the investment to support them.
  • Your tax-deductible donation directly transforms the lives of the 1,400 participants we serve.

No matter the size, every single gift is important and helps us improve the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs.
