Now that the holiday season at The Shea Center has come to a close, we are looking forward to some big things happening in the new year. One of these is our annual grassroots fundraising campaign, Drive to Ride. For those of you new to The Shea Center, this month-long fundraiser is designed to bring in money to support client financial aid, horse care, and priority programs. During Drive to Ride, everyone has an opportunity to share their story about how The Shea Center has impacted their life.
This is a special year, as it is the 10th anniversary of the campaign. Over the past nine years, Drive to Ride has raised more than $1 million, which has gone directly back to our clients, horses, and priority programs. In 2019, we raised over $177,000!
Since we know your stories will make an impact, we want to continue to push ourselves to new heights. In 2020, our goal is $190,000!
From February 4 through February 29, The Shea Center will be all things Drive to Ride. We will have activities and opportunities for everyone to enjoy throughout the month. There will also be Drive to Ride prizes for participants!
* Week 1: It’s kick-off week! (Did someone say opportunity drawing?)
* Week 2: The fan-favorite Kissing Booth is back! We will also open up the new Trading Post where by making a donation, each person can choose one of the many generous gifts that have been donated by Shea Center friends.
* Week 3: The Trading Post hasn’t closed yet, stop by!
* Week 4: Final push for donations to reach our goal!
As excited as we are to spread the word and start reaching our 2020 goal, we can’t do it alone. We need YOU to make this a reality. Whether you are a client, volunteer, staff member, or an extended part of The Shea Center community, you have a story to tell, and your story is important.
So, if you would like to share how The Shea Center has impacted your life or the life of someone you know, here is what you should know:
• Once you share your story on our website, your goal is to raise at least $500. When you reach this milestone, you will receive a Shea Center Drive to Ride hoodie featuring our brand new logo! (It’s the 10th anniversary, so we made it special!)
• The top three money generating stories in both the rider and volunteer categories win prizes!
-1st place wins a $500 Amazon gift card
-2nd place wins a $300 Amazon gift card
-3rd place wins a $100 Amazon gift card
