Speech Language Pathology focuses on improving an individual’s communication skills to their fullest potential. At The Shea Center, we partner with Life Spirit Speech, a third-party contractor that we work with to provide Speech Therapy utilizing the horse’s movement (hippotherapy) as a treatment tool for people of all ages.

Once the client is mounted on the horse, motivating activities are used to promote speech and language development. In addition, trail rides also offer a language-rich environment for our clients. The horse’s movement often results in improved attention, motivation, behaviors, and language/sensory processing. This creates an ideal learning environment.
