Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Holly spent 15 years in Chicago before settling in Dana Point in 2002. She holds a BA in Religious Studies and Philosophy, along with graduate degrees in Psychology and Business from the University of Chicago.
Her career in philanthropy began at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was inspired by the impact of charitable giving on patient care, research, and education. After more than 25 years in university development, Holly was excited to bring her expertise to the nonprofit world and to her own community through The Shea Center.
At Shea, Holly is inspired by the passion and dedication of her colleagues and is committed to helping philanthropists achieve their goals while advancing the Center’s transformational work. Known for her empathy, listening, and persistence, she finds fulfillment in creating meaningful partnerships that leave a lasting impact. For example, she recently worked with a couple to establish a significant estate gift that will one day transform the neurosciences. Beyond its remarkable size, the gift is especially meaningful because it reflects the donors’ values and ensures a lasting legacy for them both.
Outside of work, Holly enjoys surfing, traveling, reading, walking her dog Mochi, and spending time with her two children, now young adults.
