Concerning mental health statistics, including rising rates of depression and anxiety, along with increasing awareness about the importance of mental health, and its interdependence with physical health for overall individual and communal well-being, became the impetus for us to consider offering mental health care. Then the pandemic exacerbated conditions, resulting a deluge of direct requests from parents and families for help. This became our catalyst to expand into mental health care services including emotional, psychological and social well-being. The good news is this year we hired our first licensed mental health care provider, Leeanna Rice, MSW, LCSW, ESMHL, CTRI, and successfully planned and conducted several mental health care pilot programs!
Your contributions to Stand With Shea will allow us to formally launch these tested and proven programs in 2023 and give hope and resources to those experiencing mental health related distress.
