Shea Center volunteer Jasmine C. is a valued team member both at the barn and in lessons. Her dependability and consistency are two of the reasons she has been selected as Volunteer of the Month.
Jasmine enjoys being around horses and is an avid horseback rider. While looking for a local horse therapy center, where she could volunteer and give back to the community, she discovered The Shea Center. A year ago, Jasmine became a Shea Center volunteer as soon as she met the age requirement. Jasmine says she enjoys learning about the world of therapeutic horseback riding and the work done at the Center.
Although she prefers to be a “behind the scenes” person as part of the barn crew, Jasmine is actively involved in lessons, as a sidewalker and leader. She says working in lessons pushes her out of her comfort zone and keeps her smiling as she sees the clients build strength and flourish.
In her free time, Jasmine enjoys sculpting, ceramics, glassblowing, and baking, and is just beginning her path into the world of horse show jumping.
Shea Center volunteers are a crucial part of making client lessons fun and engaging, and an important part of keeping the barn functional and ready for our clients and horses. Jasmine is a hardworking and dedicated Shea Center volunteer, and we are pleased to have her helping us. Thank you for all you do, Jasmine!
